Message Translation

Great news! Rhinogram understands you come in contact with multiple different languages on a daily basis. As a result, we are simplifying communication by having the ability to translate incoming messages and compose outgoing messages in English before sending to the patient in their native language.

Message translation applies to Text, Facebook and Web form  incoming and outgoing messages.

The languages we currently support in v1 are:

  • Spanish

  • French

  • Portuguese

  • Polish

To enable this feature,  simply go to your Organization Preferences to toggle it to on and Update Preferences to save.

To compose a non-English message:

  1. Use the global search to search for your desired contact.

  2. At the bottom of the conversation thread, select the globe icon above the compose area which can be used for translation and a dropdown consisting of a set of languages to translate to.

3. Once a language is selected, the composed message is translated to that language and the globe appears with the option to revert the original message back to English.

4. Select the green paper airplane to send the message in the translated language. RhinoSecure or Notes are not supported in outgoing message composition translation.

Note: If a language has been previously used to translate a message or if an incoming message has been detected as one of the supported languages, then it will default to that language in the compose message area.  This becomes the recommended language in the select list, but it is possible to select any language from the list.

To translate an incoming message:

When message translation is enabled, you will be able to detect if an incoming message is in a non-English language. If a message is detected as non-English, and is on the list of supported languages, you will be presented with the ability to translate the message to English.

To do so, select the "See Translation" button below the message to view in English. You also have the option to revert back to the original message.

Can I translate a template?

You are able to translate a pasted template in the message compose area. If any variables are being used, they will be translated in the same manner as the rest of the message.

Note: Message translation does not apply when you are creating/editing templates within your organization settings.

Select, Save & Share Clinical Conversations

We are excited to announce that you can now select, save, and share clinical conversations!  Members with administrative permissions can select and save content from a contact’s conversation thread to the library section on their profile. Once saved, this PDF document or link can be shared internally or externally as required.

Here’s how to select your desired content:

  1. If you’re an administrator on the account, search for your desired contact.

  2. In the contact’s conversation thread,  select the 3 dots.

  3.  Once selected, you will see a “Select Content” action to the list of actions available.

  4. If selected, you will be in “Select Content” mode.

  5. All objects on the thread are now selectable:

    1. Messages - sent/received

    2. Images - sent/received

    3. Notes

    4. Thread events (such as HIPAA consent update, assignment event, etc)

  6. Selecting a checkbox puts a check mark in the box, and also adds a count of one to the selected count.

  7. Deselecting a checkbox removes the check mark in the box, and also removes a count of one to the selected count.

  8. The compose message panel is replaced with a new “Select Content” panel. Note: Sending messages is not possible while in Select Content mode.

  9. The “Select Content” panel consists of:

    1. Title field- mandatory to be able to save

    2. Note field- optional

    3. Cancel - takes the user out of select content mode.

    4. Save - possible to save the selections

    5. Preview - displays a link to preview the page.

    6. Count - shows dynamic count of combined thread items that have been selected

    7. Preview page - displays the selected content in chronological order with a panel at the bottom of the page indicating that this is a preview. Option to go back/close the preview, returns you to the selection mode with all of the previous selections still active

  10. If you close the selection mode or close the conversation thread, the previous selections are not saved. Note: You will see a message stating, “You've made changes to this page that haven't been saved. Are you sure you want to discard them?”

  11. Once a selection is saved, you will be taken out of the selected content mode and back to the regular messaging mode. The right hand panel will display the “saved content” panel.

  12. A thread event will be created on the contact's record with the details of when, what and who created the link, as well as a link to the selected content.

Note: If you wish for other staff, to select, save and share clinical content, you may also create a new role within your Rhinogram account using the following steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon

  2. Select Role

  3. Select the + to add a new Role

  4. Select the appropriate permission(s) for the new Role

  5. Assign the appropriate members to the Role

  6. Save

What’s in the Saved Content Panel?

Once content has been saved, the saved artifact can be accessed from the contact’s profile summary, which is a new section called Library> Saved Content> opening any artifact will open the “Saved Content Actions Panel”.

This is also the panel that displays each time content has been saved.

Within this panel you have a few options:

  1. Preview the PDF by selecting the blue hyperlink.

  2. Download the PDF to upload to the patient chart or utilize outside of Rhinogram (print, etc) by selecting the cloud icon.

While this file is encrypted during transmission, once downloaded, you are responsible for implementing appropriate safeguards to protect the data, including encryption or deletion to the extent

            required by applicable law.

  1. Copy link internally in a team chat to send the selected content directly to another staff member or group by using the copy link option.

This is helpful if one team member chooses what is relevant to select & save and they wish for another team member to complete the download/upload portion of the process.
