Team Chat supports @mentions

Does your organization use Rhinogram’s team chat to communicate securely within your practice? Are you a part of a team chat group? If so, this enhancement is for you!

You can now @mention one or more members within the team chat group.

Why would you want to use @mention? We’re glad you asked!

This will alert the team member that they have specifically been mentioned within the group and will also add a task for that team member within the new @Mentions Inbox (located within the My Tasks area of the navigation panel).

Here’s how it works:

  1. Select the correct team chat group

  1. Type @ in the compose message box and a list of all members that have access to that group will appear. Member names will display in alphabetical order by Member’s last name.

Note: Only Active members that have access to the team chat group will appear in the member list.

  1. Select “All” to alert and create a task for all members within the group or individually select a member from the list.

Note: You can only select 1 name at a time. To select additional members individually, type @ to open the member list again and select the next name from the list.

What happens next?

Two actions will occur when you @mention a member within team chat.

  1. The member will receive a notification (if the member has @mention notifications turned on).

  2. The member will have a new task assigned to them and it will display in the @Mentions inbox.

Notifications

A new notification preference for team messages has been added to allow members to receive a desktop or mobile notification when another member of their organization mentions their name within team chat.

Note: By Default, this notification preference is disabled for all existing members. To turn this On, navigate to member preferences and enable as appropriate

If a given member is mentioned more than once in the same message, only 1 notification will be sent to the member.

The notification will let the member know if the team chat was a Direct message (one on one conversation) or if it was a team chat group.

If the member opens the notification, it will take the member directly to the part of the conversation where their name was mentioned.

@Mentions Inbox

When a member is mentioned within team chat, a new task will be created and accessed from the new @Mentions Inbox.

Within this new Inbox, the logged in member will see each time they’ve been mentioned in team chat, either directly or within a team chat group.

To view the message:

  1. Select the appropriate task (row) from the list

  2. This will take the logged in member directly to the position in the message where their name was mentioned.

We’ve also added a few bulk actions that can be taken from the Inbox list view.

Bulk actions include:

  1. Mark as Read

  2. Mark as Unread

  3. Close

To perform an action on one or more tasks in the list, first use the checkbox to select the appropriate line items.

Select (Check) an individual row, multiple rows manually or use the filter option to pre-select items based on some defined criteria.

The filter option allows you to select all tasks in the list that meet a certain criteria.

Filter options include:

  1. All

  2. None

  3. Read

  4. Unread

Once you have the correct rows or tasks selected, use the Select an Action button to select the correct bulk action.

  1. Mark as Read
    a. This will take an unread message and mark it as read. In other words, it will take a bolded task and unbold it to indicate the task has been seen.

  2. Mark as Unread
    b. This will take a message that has been read (or appears unbolded) and mark it as unread which will make the message appear in bold.

  3. Close
    c. This will remove the task from the Inbox list.

Bug Fixes

  1. Issue: Some users reported that the mobile app will time out when attempting to send messages or accessing the application in general.

Resolution: New Mobile app updates will improve the users mobile experience.

  1. Issue: When deactivating or reactivating a member that has no assigned roles, an error notification was prompting the user.

Resolution: The error notification has been removed.

  1. Issue: A text from an existing contact came into Rhinogram as an Unknown contact.

Resolution: Existing contact and phone number were corrected so the contact would no longer appear as an Unknown contact.

  1. Issue: A patient with an upcoming appointment did not receive an appointment reminder.

Resolution: The practice had added a new location and not alerted Rhinogram so the office was mapped correctly to resolve the issue.

  1. Issue: Selecting an image and choosing to download the picture was opening the image in a new tab within the browser.

Resolution: The image will now download to the device properly and not open a new viewing window.

  1. Issue: Member availability was not displayed when a member was online within Direct chat.

Resolution: The availability indicator now properly displays for members within Direct team chat.
