OAuth2

What is OAuth?

OAuth is an open-standard authorization protocol or framework that provides applications the ability for “secure designated access.” For example, you can tell Facebook that it’s OK for ESPN.com to access your profile or post updates to your timeline without having to give ESPN your Facebook password. This minimizes risk in a major way: In the event ESPN suffers a breach, your Facebook password remains safe.

OAuth2 will allow Rhinogram to work securely with our ever-growing services by exposing a secure and open API to our third party partners that we integrate with. Oauth2 is also in line with the standards based Identity Providers and Single Sign On providers Rhinogram will eventually integrate with. This release is the underlying security framework to allow all of this to happen and bring our SaaS platform into the modern, standards-based, and highly interoperable future.

The first change Rhinogram made to begin moving toward OAuth security protocol was the login requirement made in our last release. This change required all of our users to move from a username to a unique email address for login purposes.

For this release, the following changes were made:

  1. Login URL will remain app.rhinogram.com but please note that if any of your staff bookmarked the following URL app.rhinogram.com/login, you may receive a page as shown below asking you to use the correct URL:

  1. The first time a user logs in following the release, they will need to enter their email and password. (previously saved user credentials won't be present)

  2. The "remember me" checkbox has been removed

NOTE: Users can still store passwords in their browser if-needed.

  1. The maximum of 3 attempts for logging in with incorrect credentials has been removed. Instead, Rhinogram will use OAuth's rules for validating login credentials and providing Brute Force protection. It limits the amount of signups and failed logins from "suspicious" IP addresses only.

  2. Touch ID and Face ID will NOT work without the latest Rhinogram App!

    1. A new version of the Rhinogram app was released three  weeks ago, version 1.3.5. Be sure to check your personal device to see if the latest version is installed.

    2. Users using the older version of our app will be directed to the Rhinogram web login where they can enter in their email and password (bypassing the mobile app login).

  3. Member Profile Page: A member will no longer be able to edit their email after this release. They will see their email in the profile, but it will not be editable, as Email uniquely identifies the account of each user.

TCPA: Marketing Consent for Contacts

TCPA guidelines require that you obtain special consent from your patients before sending “marketing” text messages so while you’re busy caring for your patients, we are busy caring for you and providing ways to keep you compliant!

Rhinogram has added a new communication consent type to the Contact Summary panel and within the Edit Contact page.

Please refer to the following links for more information on TCPA guidelines:

Rhinogram Marketing Consent: Things to Remember

  • Marketing Consent is defaulted to "Unknown" for all contacts within your Rhinogram system

  • Consent can be updated to either Denied or Granted

  • We’ve used the same colors as other consent types (Red, Yellow, Green) for consistency!

  • Marketing consent is available for Patient and Other contact types only. (Note: First save an Unknown contact as a patient or other to use this new consent type).

  • A new Marketing Badge will display in the same locations as HIPAA and RhinoPay badges and change colors as the consent status is updated.

  • When searching for contacts, the badge will only display if the contact has “Granted” consent. If no consent has been given or if the contact has denied consent, the badge will not display in the search results.

Global Search Enhancements

We have improved the capabilities of our Global search to provide more functionality and a better user experience.

Here’s what’s new:

We have done away with the current pop up search modal.

Now, you will search directly from the search bar, by entering your search term and  selecting the funnel icon if you wish to change the search criteria

A drop down menu will appear that allows you to search by the following criteria:

You will notice that we have added the ability to search by Tags.  So, if you have tagged any of your contacts or members, you can now search by those tags to display the relevant results.

Also, when you search for a contact, the results will now display any badges on the Contact that are GRANTED (Green)

NOTE: If the contact has an Unknown or Denied consent status, the badges will not display.

The three types of consent in Rhinogram are RhinoPay, HIPAA, and Marketing.

We have also updated creating new contacts from the global search bar.

Now, after you type the name of the contact you are looking for and nothing appears, you are able to select “Create New Contact”.

Attention RhinoBlast beta customers!

RhinoBlasts and Saved List Enhancements

We have moved where you build your lists for Rhinoblasts. You will no longer use the global search to search for contacts or select the “multiple contacts” checkbox.

Based on beta feedback, we’ve improved the workflow experience (Thank you beta testers!)

Here’s how you can find your existing saved lists:

  1. Select the contacts button in the lower left corner

  1. Here you will see 2 tabs: Individual Contacts and Saved List

  1. Select Saved List to find contact lists you’ve saved previously

  2. From here you can add or remove contacts from previously saved lists, delete lists, create a new list and much more!

To edit a saved list:

  1. Select the list

  2. Choose Update List (located on the Right within the Summary panel)

  1. Remove contacts, add additional contacts or choose to send a Rhinoblast message to this group of contacts.

    1. Save As - allows you to copy the list and save with a new name

    2. Update - saves any modifications you made to the list

    3. Update & Message - saves any modifications you made to the list and allows you to move to the next screen to choose your message content for the blast message

To delete a saved list:

  1. Select the list

  2. Use the Delete List link found in the bottom right (within the Summary panel)

To create a new saved list:

  1. Select the       in the top right corner

  2. Begin searching for the contacts you want to add to the list (use the filter to help you find contacts more easily) NOTE: You no longer have to select the “Select Multiple contacts” checkbox in order to select multiple contacts.

  3. Select the contact from the search results

NOTE: We have removed Members from the search results so only patient or other contacts will display in the search results.

  1. Search for the next contact and select their name from search results (continue this process until all contacts are added to your list or you have added the max (50) number of contacts to this list).

  1. Choose to Save the list or Message the contacts  NOTE: Message will allow you to compose the message or choose a template, but will not let you save the list to use again in the future.

Template variable updates

In response to some mobile experience and assorted issues with variables following our last release, we have reworked variables to work more seamlessly for our customers.

Some of the major bugs fixed as a part of this refactor are:

  • Ability to press enter when creating and editing templates

  • Corrected known issues on Internet Explorer and other Rhinogram supported browsers to optimize user experience

  • Backspace key has been corrected for Android users

  • Message Preview is now working on Edge

  • Cursor “jumping” has been corrected

Bug Fixes

  1. Incorrect Appointment information was displaying in a message when using the Appt Date and Time variable within templates. This has now been corrected.

  2. Some members were experiencing the “No Channels” error when attempting to initiate a conversation to a contact where the last conversation with the contact was from Facebook. This has been resolved.

  3. One Integrated customer reported seeing a contact duplicated in Rhinogram even though their PMS only listed the patient one time. This has been corrected.
