Can a patient opt out of receiving text messages?
Yes, if a patient would like to stop receiving text messages from your office phone number, they can simply reply “Stop” to automatically opt themselves out of any future messages.

If the word "Stop" is texted in, they will immediately receive a message back informing them that they will no longer be able to receive messages from that specific phone number.

How can a patient opt back into text messages?
If a patient texts in the word "Start" or “Unstop,” this will automatically re-enroll them into receiving future text messages from that phone number.

How can you tell when someone has opted out of texting in Rhinogram?
The label "Opted-Out" will display next to the phone number in their profile summary. This will appear automatically anytime a patient texts in the word "Stop".

Can I still send a text to someone who has opted out of text messaging?
Opting out is on an individual phone number basis. Once a contact has texted in “Stop” from a phone number, you will no longer be able to message that specific number.

However, if the contact has more than one “textable” phone number on their profile, you will still have the ability to text the other phone number on file that has not opted out.

If they do not have any other phone number available to text, an "Opted-Out Number" message will appear in the compose area as seen below. The text includes a hyperlink that directs you to our help center.

If a patient or contact has opted out, will they still receive any automated text messages?
No, automated messages are not sent to any phone number that has opted out. This includes Appointment Reminders or Out Of Office responses.
