Composing Messages and Notes

Composed message/note persists within the session, when a user goes away from and comes back to the thread.

  • When typing a message or a note in the contact thread, or a team message, if the user leaves the page and comes back, the text within the compose area will persist within the same session.
  • When the user comes back to the thread whatever was previously typed is maintained, including forms or attachments.
  • Persists only within this session only.

What is a Team Message Group?

A Team Message Group is a group that allows a Member to chat with more than one team member at a time. A Member can have an unlimited amount of Team Message Groups, and unlimited Members in each team group. This feature allows an organization to have communication internally and prevent any patient information from being overheard. Team Members who have access to Team Message Groups can access these messages on the lower left hand side of the Navigation Panel.

Some examples of Team Message Groups:

  • Clinical Team

  • Admin/Front Desk

  • Nurse Managers

  • All - includes all Members in an organization, and used to alert all Members

How to create a Team Message Group:

Anyone in an organization with the Role Member can create a Team Message Group.

Navigate to Settings -> Groups -> Select the green + sign -> Select 'Team' as the Group type -> Name the Group and add Members -> Create Group

When a Member is added to a Team Message Group, that Member will now see that group under 'Team Messages' in the Navigation Panel.

How do to edit a Team Message Group:

Navigate to Settings -> Groups -> Select the Group to edit -> Select 'Edit Group'

As a Member of the Team Message Group, the Member has the ability to change the name, add/remove any Tags, and add/remove any team Members the group. Any Member with the role of Member can create a new Team Message Group.

Note: If the group was initially set up as a Patient and Team Group, an Admin will need to make any edits or changes. Changes made to this group type will reflect in both the patient and team groups. To learn more about groups, visit Rhinogram's Groups FAQ.

Options to add a Member to an existing Team Member Group:

1. Navigate to Settings -> Groups -> Select the Group to edit -> Select 'Edit Group' -> 'Add More Members'  -> Update Group at the bottom

2.  Navigate to Settings -> Members -> Select the Member to edit -> Scroll to Groups, and 'Add to More Groups'  -> Update Member at the bottom

How to send files or use Templates within Team Message Groups:

Files up to 50 MB and templates can be sent in Team Message Groups. When using templates within a team group, a Member will only be given the option to use team message templates that are specific for internal communication.

How do other Member's know if another Member is available?

Rhinogram has indicators on each team members avatar to notify other members as to whether or not that team member is active or inactive within Rhinogram.  When the indicator is green, the member is active. When the indicator is grey, the member is inactive, as shown below.

How to @Mention another team member in a Team Message Group:

Members have the ability to @Mentions team members that are included in a Team Message.

  • Navigate to the Group under Team Messages

  • Choose an existing direct chat message to enter or select the green plus symbol to compose a new message.

  • In the message composition area, type @ and the Member's name, or choose from the list that will populate above the message composition box.

  • Send the message using the green paper airplane to notify the Member

Once a Member has sent a message containing @Mentions, the Member(s) notified will have a badge notification to the @Mentions Inbox.

Note: It is not possible to mention a deactivated member. They will not appear in the list and will not be a part of the @All mention.

How to @Mentions more than one Member in a Message:
Members can @Mention more than one Member in a message, however it needs to be done one at a time. To @Mention all Members in a direct chat, use @All.

Can a Member's access be limited to only Team Messages on the Rhinogram mobile application?

Member's access to the mobile application can be limited to either Team Conversations or Contacts & Patient Messages. Visit Roles to review how to limit or disable mobile application access.
